A Community Effort: Thank You for a Memorable Fourth of July
The Tahoe Fireworks Board extends its heartfelt gratitude to the organizations, agencies, volunteers, donors, and community members who came together to make this year’s Independence Day celebration a memorable success.
Thousands of residents and visitors gathered along the shores of Lake Tahoe to celebrate our nation’s independence with family, friends, community events, and a spectacular fireworks display over the lake. This year carried added significance as our nation commemorated the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The board felt it was especially important to continue this long-standing community tradition and provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to come together in celebration of this historic milestone.
While the display lasted just 18 minutes, it was the culmination of months of planning, coordination, and collaboration by dozens of dedicated partners working behind the scenes.
Our sincere appreciation goes to Lantis Fireworks for delivering another spectacular display over Lake Tahoe; Connolly Crane for safely launching and retrieving the barges; High Sierra Marine for its marine operations expertise; and DiveRobotix for transporting the fireworks, securing the launch area, and assisting with post-event cleanup.
IVGID played an important role by providing access to the Ski Beach boat ramp for the safe launch and retrieval of the fireworks barges, as well as extending beach hours so residents and visitors could enjoy the celebration from our local beaches. The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District provided invaluable guidance throughout the planning process, while the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office helped ensure a safe celebration on both land and water.
We also thank the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW), Washoe County Planning, United States Coast Guard, and the Nevada State Police – Highway Patrol (NHP) for their collaboration throughout the planning process, as well as the University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe for providing staging space during event preparations. Every organization contributed valuable expertise that helped make this year’s celebration a success.
Behind every successful fireworks show is a community of people willing to invest their time, talent, and resources. As a volunteer board, together with many dedicated community members, we devote countless hours throughout the year to planning, permitting, fundraising, logistics, communications, and event-day operations. Just as important are the generous individuals, businesses, and community supporters who help fund this tradition. Because the Lake Tahoe fireworks program is supported entirely through private contributions, every donation helps ensure families and visitors can continue gathering along the shores of Lake Tahoe to celebrate Independence Day for years to come.
To everyone who spent the holiday with us, whether from a beach, a boat, a neighborhood gathering, or your own backyard, thank you for being part of another unforgettable Fourth of July. Seeing our community come together to celebrate is what makes every hour of planning worthwhile.
Looking Ahead
Although this year’s celebration has come to an end, planning for next Independence Day is already underway. As a volunteer board, we remain committed to producing a celebration that is safe, professionally managed, environmentally responsible, and worthy of the incredible setting we are fortunate to call home.
Help Keep the Tradition Alive
If you enjoyed this year’s fireworks celebration and would like to help ensure this tradition continues for future generations, we invite you to consider making a donation to Tahoe Fireworks.
Every contribution, regardless of size, helps support the planning, permitting, safety measures, marine operations, and professional pyrotechnic services required to produce this community celebration.
Thank you for helping us preserve this cherished Lake Tahoe tradition for generations to come.
